About Prophecy

Prophecy is made through this web site as God directs.  For those of you who are not familiar with how prophecy works or with the Office of Prophet, there are some things that you need to know.

First, not everyone who claims to be a Prophet of God is!  There are many who would lead you astray by telling you that they are a prophet when they are not.  Some are well meaning individuals that have been misled because they don’t understand the Office of Prophet.  They make incorrect assumptions concerning their walk with God.  This can result in them embracing the beliefs that they are prophets when they are not.  Others may be wolves in sheep’s clothing sent into your midst to lead you astray and to destroy you, your church or both.  Both can do great damage.  So how do you tell who is who?

Knowledge

Any saved, Spirit Filled Christian can function in the Gift of Prophecy. (1Cor:12)  Prophecy is a gift freely given through the Ministry of the Holy Spirit.  If you, as a believer, are willing to receive the Gift of Prophecy, it is yours for the asking.  If you don’t want to have this gift, God will not force it upon you.  God is truly a gentleman.  He will not force any of the Spiritual Gifts upon you.  You must want them.  If you do, they are readily available any time they are needed.

To have the Gift of Prophecy working in your life does not automatically make you a prophet.  Prophets are called by God to this office.  He receives their willingness to accept His invitation to walk in this office.  Once they choose to receive it, God sends an anointing upon them.  When under this anointing, they speak for God.  They are His representative, sharing His thoughts with His people.

About Prophets

Prophets are not ashamed of who they are and should not be treated badly.  They love and serve God and are obedient to Him.  Some churches teach that if a person says that they are a prophet, it means that they are a false prophet and nothing that they say should be believed!  Members of the congregation are told to stay away from them.  How sad and foolish this is.  Professing to be a prophet should in no way be considered an indication that this person is a false prophet.  Seriously think about this.  Have you ever met a pastor who was ashamed to to tell you that he/she was a pastor?  They generally greet strangers with a handshake and the words, “Hello, I’m Pastor _____”.

He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists;
and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints,
for the work of the ministry, for the edifying
of the body of Christ . . .
Ephesians 4:11-12  KJV

All callings are placed upon a person’s life by God.  Why should a prophet be considered suspect by claiming to be one?  It’s what comes out of the prophet’s mouth that should determine if such a person is a false prophet or not.  The Bible teaches that a false prophet will lead you away from God by the things that come out of their mouths.  Do you understand the difference between the two?  If not, it will become clear as you read on.

A Prophet's Responsibility to God

Prophets of God have a responsibility to do what God directs them to do.  When God gives me a prophecy for either a church or an individual, the first thing that He has directed me to do is ask the church or the person if they are willing to receive that prophecy.  If they are not, I am not to deliver God’s Word.  Prophecies for churches or individuals are always offered, never forced.  Even on this web site, the prophecies that will be shared here are an offering and not something that you are forced to look at.

Your Responsibility

Once a prophet delivers a prophecy, that prophet’s responsibility has been fulfilled.  It now becomes the responsibility of the church or the individual to receive God’s confirmation of it.  Generally a person or persons hearing a prophecy from God receives immediate confirmation that it is from Him.  It just settles into your heart and mind as being true.  You simply know that you know that it is from God.  But there are times when a person or church hears a word of “prophecy” and they don’t immediately know that it is from God.  When this happens, the prophecy could be coming from a false prophet.  Also, the person or church could be out of fellowship with God for any number of reasons.  Therefore, they are unable to receive God’s Word.  In such cases, no matter what the reason, it becomes the responsibility of the person or church to go before God in prayer and ask Him to confirm if this Word is from Him.

If God does not confirm that the word is from Him, discard it!
This is your responsibility.  Take it very seriously!

Important to Remember

Not every prophecy that you hear may necessarily be for you.  Sometimes you may hear a prophecy, especially in a church, that is for someone else.  When this happens, God still will confirm to your heart and mind that these words are from Him even though they are not specifically for you.

A Prophet's Reaction

If a prophet is really from God, he/she will never be insulted by you expecting confirmation from God concerning his/her words.  They will be counting on it!  It’s comforting for a prophet to know their words are being confirmed and well received.  But well received or not, a true prophet knows his/her words truly are from God and they want you to know it also.  When in doubt, always ask God.  He is faithful.  If you ask, He will not allow you to be led astray.

About Future Prophecies

As prophecies are added to this web site, I’m asking you to pray about them and allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you concerning them.  He will and you will be glad that you asked because you will know that they are truth and that you will never be led astray by this ministry.

About Punctuation

God does not have to take a breath in order to speak.  When He speaks He often does so in complete thoughts or long run on sentences.  All punctuation in prophecies has been added by me (Susan Fernandes).   The punctuation is not necessarily grammatically correct.  But it is correct a far as the phrasing and meaning are concerned.  Sometimes I leave long, run on sentences because changing them would require changing God’s Word choices.  Sometimes you will find “dashes” representing places God has paused.  Read prophecies for the flow of thought content and not for proper punctuation.

Use of the Word Beloved

In December 1989, God stopped calling me Susan when He speaks to me.  He began calling me Beloved as if it were  my first name.  He has called me Beloved ever since.  I capitalize it because it has replaced the name of Susan in my walk with Him.  Now He rarely calls me by the name of Susan.

I hope that these explanations have helped to make the prophecies that you will be reading clear and understandable.  If you have any questions, please contact me.  My responsibility to God as His prophetess, is to offer and pass on to you those things that He desires I share with you.  Your responsibility concerning the things that I share with you is to take them back to God in prayer and have Him confirm their truth to your heart.
