God has directed Christ’s Love Ministries to send Bibles to prisons.

Every prison that the ministry has been in contact with either has an extremely small budget or no budget at all for their Chaplaincy needs.  If those of us on the outside of prison are not concerned and generous, prisoners’ spiritual needs will go unmet.  They need our prayers, Bibles, communion supplies, music and much, much more.  Remember what Jesus said:  “Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers that you do unto me”.

The Bible that we generally send to prisons is the NIrV Free On The Inside large print paperback Bible.  The NIrV is basically the NIV Bible that has been revised to a reader’s edition so that the language is simple, straight forward and easy to understand for people with limited reading skills.

The Free On The Inside Bible has been written especially for prisons and we have been told that it meets the various prisons’ requirements.  Even though it is more expensive, we prefer to send the large print version because it is easier to read.  Chaplains have shared with us that many prisoners have trouble focusing their eyes on a smaller font size print and that the large print Bibles are a real blessing in great demand.

Christ’s Love Ministries, upon requests of chaplains, provided communion cups and wafers, grape juice, books and various other items to prisons to aid the chaplains in bringing the love of Christ in a real and tangible way.
